Rich Media Demonstration - Audio/Slide Version (for dial-up users)
The menu that appears on this page will take you to a version of the demonstration seminar that has been built specifically for streaming over a dial-up Internet connection. The only difference between this seminar and the version built for streaming over high-speed connections is that you will not be able to watch Lisa’s video. You will be able to listen to her and can view her entire slide presentation. When participating in audio/slide mode you may want to maximize the size of the slides.
Accessing the Presentations
To
access the demonstration seminar CLICK HERE.
A new window will open and the seminar should start in just a few seconds. The
seminar can be accessed from any computer running Microsoft Windows
2000/XP/2003 or Apple computers running Macintosh OS X. No special software
should need to be downloaded. If you do not have a recent version of Windows
Media Player (version 9 or above) a message will be displayed directing you to
an update. If the seminar does not start you may need to disable your pop-up
blocker. In Internet Explorer you can do this by clicking on “Tools” (see
below). You will find “Help” in the upper right corner of the viewer window.
Viewing and Navigating in a Presentation
You will find that it is very easy to tailor your presentation experience to your preferences and to navigate within the viewer window. When the presentation opens you will see a screen on the right that displays slides from Lisa’s presentation. The audio and slides are automatically synchronized as you move forward or backward in the presentation. The presentation can be paused at any time and can view the slides in full screen mode if you wish. There are a number other navigation features that you may want to familiarize yourself with. For more information on these, click HERE.
Downloading Handouts
You can access the seminar handout by clicking on the “Collateral Material” link. Clicking on this link will open a PDF that can be viewed and printed using Adobe Acrobat. You can also click on the “Details” button on the lower portion of the viewer window. This will open a small window with a link to “Collateral Material.”

We Would Like to Hear From You
Throughout 2006, HCIN will be producing dozens of additional seminars to be made available over the Internet. In addition to Lisa Selman-Holman, our expert faculty includes Melinda Gaboury, Linda Krulish, Trish Tulloch, Stephen Tweed, John Gilliland and Mike Ferris, just to name a few. As we launch HCIN, we are looking for feedback from our viewers. We would greatly appreciate it if you would take a few moments after viewing this demonstration to complete our brief on-line survey. You can access the viewer survey by clicking the button below.
