Emergency
Preparedness Training CHC has produced three new training programs specifically
designed for home health aides, other paraprofessionals and community
volunteers responding to pandemic flu and other terrorism, bioterrorism or
natural disaster emergencies. All are available at no charge following
registration. Participation in all three programs is strongly encouraged, as
each one covers different aspects of response and will give participants a
comprehensive understanding of the roles of each group in emergency
situations. These programs have been made possible by a grant from the New
York State Department of Health and the Health Resources Services
Administration. The best way to access all three programs is through streaming
video broadcast over the Internet by the Home Care Information Network. These
programs are available around the clock and are accessible from any computer
with a high speed Internet connection. When you use HCIN to view these
programs, you will be able to take both your pre- and post-tests online and
you can print your completion certificates as soon as you finish a program.

Troubleshooting Very few
viewers experience problems accessing an HCIN seminar. If for some reason the
video and audio do not start or do not run smoothly on your computer, there
are several step you can take to correct the
problems you may be experiencing. ·
If the video does not start at all, make certain that
your network firewall permits access to video streamed content. If you have
access to technical staff, please check with them. ·
If the video starts but does not run smoothly or the
audio breaks up, you are most likely using an old version of Windows Media
Player. You can upgrade for free by going to http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/download. ·
If you are using a pop-up blocker and can not access the
video stream, please turn the blocker off. If you
continue to experience problems, you can contact us at support@homecareinformation.net. |
